Life is funny.
Today, by chance, I was reminded of a speech I heard in November 1978 in Kansas City, Missouri, at the National FFA convention when I was a Junior in high school and an FFA officer.
In the Newark FFA chapt er, officers traveled each year to the National Convention, and in 1978 it was FFA’s 50thanniversary.
They had an impressive lineup of speakers including President Jimmy Carter, Secretary of Agriculture Bob Bergland, and radio broadcaster Paul Harvey. Paul Harvey’s speech included an essay, “God Made a Farmer.”
So I looked up the “God Made a Farmer” Dodge Trucks ad from 2013: God Made a Farmer.
I encourage you to have a look. It reminds me why I am so passionate about every farm business having an effective farm legacy plan.
Have a great Labor Day. Special thanks to all those who labor every day to put the food on our plates.
